The Art of Thai Massage
Origins of Thai massage
A healing tradition rooted in yoga, Ayurveda and the temples of Thailand, and practised at Hatyai today.
Thai massage is more than a massage. It’s a centuries-old healing art that works on body, energy and mind.
Restoring the body’s energy balance
Thai massage follows the Sen lines of the body, believed to be the pathways that carry energy (or “air”) throughout the body. The therapist applies pressure to points along these lines to restore balance and equilibrium.

A unique physical technique
Thai massage differs from Western massage in the way the therapist uses her body weight to perform the movements. She leans into the body using her hands and straight forearms to apply firm pressure and, in some positions, may use her feet on pressure points.
There is a standard sequence and rhythm to every treatment, which your therapist adjusts to suit you. You’ll be guided through a variety of yoga-like positions, but deep, static and rhythmic pressure forms the heart of the treatment.
Healing through touch
True traditional Thai massage requires a compassionate therapist. Humility, awareness and concentration allow the therapist to connect more deeply with themselves and their client, and that’s the spirit our Thai-trained therapists bring to every treatment.
